The environment of the scholar, the setting for his literary and artistic endeavors, is a product of his own creativity. Brushpots, scroll weights, inkstones, stationery boxes, and seals are just a few of the scholar's tools. Collected objects include small bronze vessels, bowls, boxes, folding fans, and scholar rocks. In creating for himself an extraordinarily rich and delicate world, the scholar made a significant contribution to the cultural heritage of China.
